The Limassol AGORA Opens their doors for the First Time to Host Elina Leventi’s K.Y.F.A Charity Fashion Show

Limassol, Cyprus – Monday 16th of December 2019, The Limassol AGORA – a project by The Prosperity Group – opened their doors for the very first time and for one night only to host a fashion show by Elina Leventi, ‘Back to the Future,’ in aid of K.Y.F.A, a charity for HIV and AIDS. Graciously attended by the Mayor of Limassol, his wife and guests who travelled from all over Cyprus.

Limassol #newold AGORA, formerly the Pantopolio established in 1918 and now to be Cyprus’ first urban market and cultural center, in Limassol’s old-town. Prosperity Group, a company which handles projects internationally in the areas of construction, corporate services, real-estate and development are due to finish the renovations and officially open the AGORA in Spring 2020. Panos Alexandrou the founder and CEO of the Prosperity Group stated, ‘As part of our yearly CSR activities, we take part in donating to charity and this year what better reason could we have to open the doors, for one night only, to host Elina’s fashion show for such an important cause. Not only did Elina’s show blow-us-away but we were overwhelmed by the huge support from everyone who attended and so proud to see the AGORA so full of life. With our vendors for the market now locked-in and coming to a final close, it’s a taste of what’s to come for 2020 and we can’t wait to share it with our whole community.’

K.Y.F.A is a non-profit organisation providing awareness and support for those affected by HIV and AIDS. The NGO, and its volunteers, operate from a support centre situated at Limassol’s old general hospital, as well offering free and anonymous testing from their moveable unit which serves all of Cyprus to reduce the spread of the disease.

Elina Leventi, a renowned Haute Couture Cypriot fashion designer with a boutique atelier in Limassol’s Mesa Gitonia, displayed a line that was inspired by, ‘Back to the Future,’ where the models strutted the catwalk along the halls of the 101 year old AGORA building. Leventi’s speech mentioned that, ‘The Pantopolio has a special place in my heart which reminds me of my childhood memories and my papou (my grand-father),’ she continued to dedicate the evening to her late grandfather. Following the show Alexandrou commented that he had recently made an interview mentioning his own similar childhood memories.

Following the success of the show, the Limassol AGORA and Prosperity Group are already in conversations with Elina Leventi to host more shows in 2020 in aid of K.Y.F.A.
